3D configurator built in record time lifted Wheelsystems' trade fair
The largest automotive trade fair in the Nordic region, Automässan 2026 in Gothenburg, attracted over 18,300 visitors and 220 exhibitors, a perfect arena for innovation. Just weeks before the trade fair, Wheelsystem contacted us at Wexer with an urgent request: “Can you develop a 3D configurator for our wheel washers – before the trade fair opens?” Despite the short time frame, we accepted the challenge. The result was a lightning-fast development of an interactive 3D solution that was ready just in time for the start of the trade fair.
Fast, stylish and easy to use.
At the trade fair, Wheelsystem, a leading player in smart wheel handling, was proud to showcase its new web-based 3D configurator on its stand. Visitors were able to configure a wheel washer themselves (e.g. add in/out feeders) and immediately see the machine in realistic 3D. The configurator also automatically generates layout drawings for each customization, meaning that potential customers could immediately receive a printout with supporting documents, perfect for quoting or planning an installation.

From trade fair to digital sales.
The project with Wheelsystem is fully in line with our focus on smart CPQ tools (Configure, Price, Quote). The next step will be to embed the 3D configurator on Wheelsystem's own public website and further develop it into a full-scale online sales tool in Wengine CPQ, just as we have done for Weland Solutions' elevator machines, for example, which you can read more about in our customer case.
With Wengine, we can connect the configurator with Monitor ERP, which will "own" the item data and receive orders, so that the customer can configure and order their solution completely digitally. Wheelsystem will thus receive a customized customer portal that streamlines the entire flow from first customer contact to completed order.
This is a clear example of how digitalization and 3D visualization can create added value. In record time, Wheelsystem received a new tool that not only impressed at the Automässan, but also paves the way for a more efficient and customer-friendly sales process in the future.
