1. When is a CPQ system relevant to consider?

When configuration and quotation require manual calculations, multiple internal reconciliations or are based on the experience of individual people.

This is especially true when the same type of solutions are developed repeatedly, but still require a lot of manual work.

2. What is the difference between CPQ and working in ERP or Excel?

ERP and Excel manage information, but rarely contain the entire logic for how products can be combined and priced.

A CPQ system uses rules and dependencies to control what is possible to sell and ensures that the right solution is developed immediately. These rules and dependencies and perhaps integrations with other systems are much easier to maintain in a CPQ than in Excel files, for example.

3. Can you use a business system or a standard CPQ instead?
