In 2021, Viasat and Canal Digital merged to form the new company Allente. The company's goal is to deliver a top-quality TV offering in terms of content, picture and sound quality. An important part of the customer experience is that video material is always available and of good quality, and that all information about the TV offering is current, updated and accurate. Wexer has a broad collaboration with Allente, which includes technical development, operation and support.

A complete solution for Video on Demand.

Wexer has developed a system that handles the recording and publishing of all content on Allente's VoD platform in all Scandinavian countries, a total of more than 50 channels and up to 1000 programs per day, every day of the year. Via a number of web-based interfaces, operators can manage all channels, programs, images and text information to create the conditions for good content in the customer's TV boxes.

In the background, there are about 30 servers that process data, encrypt and make the programs available, and finally publish information to the security systems that make the programs visible in the boxes.

The servers are mainly run in Allente's server halls, but Wexer has also been entrusted to run some of the services on its own servers that are hosted securely in data halls in Motala. An important part of the operation is also to ensure that the material is safe from intrusion and, for example, piracy.

Grows with the customer.

Since the collaboration between Wexer and Allente (then Viasat) began, technical development has been rapid. Contributing cutting-edge knowledge has been an important part of Wexer's mission. The merger of Canal Digital and Viasat has meant major changes within Allente as a company, which makes it extra valuable to have a secure IT partner, says Ronnie Andersson.

– Viasat has developed a lot in the last 20 years, and with the formation of Allente we are taking another step further. At the same time, we feel that Wexer has grown with the task and can take on greater responsibility. Therefore, we also want to see a developed collaboration in the future, Ronnie concludes.
