Weland Solutions.
Wexer, together with Gislaved-based Weland Solutions, has developed a new sales tool for elevator automation. The tool is based on Wexer's Wengine platform and allows salespeople and customers to design customer-specific solutions in real time and go from idea to exact solution, in a dramatically shorter time than before.
Background.
Weland Solutions' automated storage and retrieval systems are used to optimize and automate warehouses all over the world. The Swedish-made automated storage and retrieval systems are tailored to the customer's specific requirements and conditions. The quantity of items, as well as the size and weight of the goods to be stored, but also the size and ceiling height of the premises are factors that play a role.
For Weland Solutions, being able to manufacture the optimal solution for each customer is a strength, but it also places high demands on design, quotation work and ordering. It was with the goal of streamlining the process that Weland Solutions contacted Wexer.
– Previously, we had Excel sheets where each component was listed. Putting together a quote based on these could take several hours. I had looked at how other industries worked, for example when you design a conservatory directly on the web. We wanted something similar.
We contacted several companies, but felt that Wexer understood our challenges best. They felt fast, responsive and flexible, says Lars Andreasen, Sales Manager at Weland Solutions.

The decision landed on Wengine.
Wexer's platform Wengine includes a CPQ system (Configure, Price, Quote). Wexer has configured this together with Weland Solutions to fit their business logic. In the CPQ tool, salespeople and resellers can design an elevator quickly and accurately together with the end customer.
The CPQ tool easily visualizes the configuration of each elevator at a detailed level. The customer designs their elevator in real time and the seller receives a complete quote.
– The new sales tool eliminates many sources of error. Both we and the customer can be sure that the quote and order will be correct every time. It has also changed the way we work. We can design an elevator together with the customer directly in an online meeting.
This has created great opportunities during the corona pandemic, but I believe that the industry will move increasingly towards digital solutions in the future. We want to be at the forefront here, Lars continues.

What is a storage lift?
A storage lift is based on the principle that goods and parts in a warehouse should be moved to the picker instead of the other way around. A storage lift stores goods at height. When the picker enters an item on a terminal, it is delivered on a tray via an elevator in the machine. A user can generally handle 2-4 times more picking with a storage lift than in a traditional warehouse.
Continued development.
Weland Solutions and Wexer continue to work together on the development of the sales tool. During the development process, the tool has changed in scope, and Lars sees many possibilities in the future.
– We plan to integrate the tool into our business system, and in the long term we see how the entire chain up to installation can become digital. Wengine is a very adaptable platform and we feel that Wexer is an innovative partner who can drive development together with us. That is why we chose them, concludes Lars.
Public version of the storage lift configurator.
A small public version of Weland Solutions' elevator configurator/sales tool (Wengine CPQ) is available on their website. Here anyone can easily build an elevator according to their own wishes and quickly get in touch with the “right” salesperson. The “Vertical Warehouse Elevator Configurator” or Mini Configurator as we call it is also embedded on some of the resellers' websites.
In Wengine, we control, according to set wishes, who will receive the quote request, and who will have the right to see and handle requests that come into the sales tool from the various "Web Users". That is, configurations and quote requests generated by Weland Solutions' Mini Configurator or by a retailer's Mini Configurator.
This way, the "right" region / department / salesperson takes over immediately in the same configuration as the customer, and can easily ask the right questions and check/change so the customer gets an optimal solution for their needs and quickly reaches a conclusion.
