KSL Trading AB is, as they say, a fairly large wholesale company in edgebanding, board materials and adhesives. Their customers are in furniture, interior design, building and design companies. They have a state-of-the-art sawmill with a fully automatic picking warehouse. When we met them, they had a manual order flow where they received orders via phone, email and Excel files and entered the order by hand several times in different files and systems. Since we are passionate about building systems that streamline flows and eliminate monotonous work, this was a challenge that we immediately liked.
However, it quickly became apparent that several steps in the process require a great deal of professional experience, reflection, and various active choices. So even after Wengine gets involved, some hands-on work will still be required at certain stages.
In any case, we are happy to release the first version of KSL's web portal today. Now KSL is free from a large part of the time-consuming and monotonous work such as copying data between Excel files, creating saw files themselves and entering orders manually in Monitor. Now Wengine generates data for the saw and automatically sends the order as an order to Monitor. A humble guess is that Wengine streamlines a couple of hours of work every day when it comes to order management.
Hopefully, more and more customers in the future will find it convenient to use Excel or even better, will want to connect with the API from their own business system to send orders to KSL. Regardless, Wengine is ready and we are happy that KSL has taken this step and look forward to the next one. Maybe we should let the customer enter or upload their orders themselves and see their placed orders and order history. We'll see đ
We wish KSL the best of luck with their Wengine and digitalization journey!
