The mini-configurator, as we call it, is a module in Wengine CPQ that is easy to add to a regular public website. It has proven to be a fantastically good thing. The customer builds his/her own elevators and receives a technical specification directly sent to him/her. At the same time, the customer's configuration ends up as a project in Wengine, where a salesperson "takes" the case with one click. A hot case with fine contact details! When the salesperson "takes" the project, a new version of the configuration is automatically created that the salesperson can now work on.
We suspected that the mini-configurator would generate a lot of leads, but we hardly dared to dream that it would be as good as it turned out. Right now, the mini-configurator is embedded on retailers' websites in the US, England, Germany, etc.
Of course, Wengine has APIs and functions for retrieving prices, generating complete order specifications, sending/retrieving data to/from CRM and business systems, etc.
